SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL

Curbside Trash Collection

  • Trash collection days are every Tuesday at curbside and must be placed at curbside on Monday after 4:00 PM. If Tuesday is a holiday, collection will be on Wednesday. 

  • Only trash in the official "Keep Elverson Clean" bags will be collected. 

  • Residents may purchase the bags at Elverson Supply Company or Boro Hall.

  • Bags are sold for $3.00 each. You may buy as many as you like. 

  • Trash bags are 30 gallons in size. 

  • Filled trash bags can weigh no more than 40 pounds when placed at the curb for pick-up. 

  • Trash bags must be closed with the provided twist tie. 

  • No trash in cans will be collected. 

  • Large items over 40 pounds must be set out on the Bulk Pickup Day.

Curbside Recycling

  • Recycling pick-up days are every Tuesday at curbside. 

  • Each new residence receives one recycling container. Additional recycling containers are $6 and can be ordered by calling Boro Hall (610-286-6420).

  • Residents are responsible for the safe keeping of their recycling container. Replacement recycling containers are $6.

  • Recycling containers may be set out even if no trash is set out.

  • Recycle plastics with numbers 1 through 9

  • Recycle glass - clean food & drink bottles & jars only

  • Metal food & beverage cans - rinsed

  • Loose papers and newspapers must be tied or in brown paper bag

Drop-off Cardboard / Paper Recycling

  • Paper/cardboard recycling drop-off hours are the first Saturday of the month, 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Old Railroad Station dumpster.

  • Please flatten cardboard boxes.

  • Absolutely no tires

Yard Waste

  • Dates for Yard Waste pick-up are:  October 25, November 8 and November 22
  • Spring 2009 Yard Waste is May 9
  • Leaves and grass must be in PAPER BIODEGRADABLE BAGS
  • Branches must be bound and not longer than 4 feet

Bulk Pick-up

  • Bulk Pick-up for 2009 is May 12th

  • Large Items only will be picked up (i.e. furniture and appliances). 

  • It is not necessary to attach an official bag.

  • Items not permitted include tires, building materials & appliances with Freon.

Street Sweeping

  • The next street sweeping is scheduled for May 14th and May 15th 
    You should sweep any sidewalk and/or driveway cinders into the street the day before.
